It's not breaking news that Family Guy takes a lot of inspiration from the Simpsons. But, here are some examples of blatant rip-offs.

Family Dude: Ok, The first two or three, maybe, Those might be. But after that, It's just Parts of the show that are in the same place as the others, wow, they are in a casion, but the scenes are almost completly different, and different things are said. If that's plagiarism, to be in the same setting, (take the casino) Then your saying any show shot in a casino is plagiarising the Simpsons. Really.
troll: Yeah... Not so much. These are just similar sinareoes. You could find any show and make comparisons with this type of thing. Oh no. There is a news cast guy on my news... They stoll it from the simpsons.

sourdiesel: Yeah it's pretty damn obvious family guy rips off the simpsons. well i wouldn't say ripping off, but it's just been done before. you have to remember that the simpsons has been on for almost 20 years. simpsons is an all time great cartoon and paved to way for family guy. i love both of these shows though.
incudork@yaho.com: not sure how i missed those first 2 before. I agree the other ones are more of scenarios than jokes. scenarios happen over and over again in all shows but jokes are those of the creator and should not be stolen and go uncredited.
Devils Advocate: Its exactly the same concept in the casino, the wives both become addicted to gambling! So what the Simpsons have been on for 20 years, times and events have changed, and your telling me there is no new material to feed off? I say all this as the Devil's Advocate, because I do enjoy both shows, but Simpsons is the first, the original, and Family Guy is just great - when they don't steal the show from another.

I hope I dont find out that the Simpsons borrowed any ideas or I wont be able to watch that any more either . Seriously - both great shows with something to offer. Love them both. You could hardly say that Family Guy doesn't have original ideas even if it does borrow or pastiche from other TV shows at times
Saucy Jack: The creators of Family Guy and the Simpsons are friends, they often take sly little digs at each other and plagerise. It's a mark of respect between the two, nothing to get worked up about.

King: Listen, everything is a rip off of something that else. Do you not think that all the jokes in the clips shown in the Simpsons haven't already been done by somebody else? Ok, it's interesting to make the comparison, but the simpsons has been about forever, it's inevitable that the other entertainment is going to have some similar storylines. I mean, how many comedy programs are there about dysfunctional families? How many where before the simpsons? So would you call the simpsons un-origional? No, so then you can't call 'Family Guy' un-origional then can you.
skim deez: yeah, its cool to see all the similarities, but if u call that blatant rip-offs, then u have to call out EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN' SHOW OUT ON TV...they're not even all that similar anyway, just coincidences. unless u know for a fact the writers from fg stole directly from the simpsons, then that'd be jacked. but who's to say simson's haven't ripped off anybody themselves! because they have.
